In my last blog, I shared how decluttering can help you bring abundance in your life. When we declutter our environment & ourselves, we are essentially removing the unnecessary stuff from our lives. In other words, we are cultivating minimalism in our lives. Minimalism is about keeping only what you use, need, and love, and getting rid of the extra stuff.
But here's the thing: if you have a scarcity mindset, you're more likely to keep extra things, thinking just in case you might need them in the future. It shows that you believe you might not be able to get it again if you need it. This shows you have a scarcity mindset. Pause here to take 3 deep breaths and ask yourself, "Do I operate from a scarcity mindset?" If yes, this is one probable reason why you are unable to attract abundance in your life.
By cultivating a mindset of abundance, you trust that you can easily attract or acquire what you’ll need in the future. So, it is safe to let these things go now so someone else can use and benefit from it.
How do you learn to feel more abundant and let go of that scarcity thinking?
1. The easiest way is to start by realising how much you already have. When it feels like you don’t have enough, focus on what you do have. One of the principles of life coaching is that you maintain what you have before you expand. Instead of buying new clothes, mend or alter some of the clothes you already own. Try using the 1:3 Rule. For any new thing you wish to purchase, first take 3 things out and give them to someone else in greater need.
The act of giving is the key to cultivating an abundance mindset.
2. Make a list of everything you are grateful for in life. You can list anything that comes to mind – your health, wonderful friends, a warm place to live, a comfortable bed, loving family, and so on. Focusing on what you have and being grateful for that is a simple trick to activate the law of attraction. Gratitude is a very attractive quality.
3. Be generous: Share your time, resources, and knowledge with others. Volunteer to help in a social cause or in your community to remind yourself how lucky you are. Acts of kindness and generosity can reinforce your abundance mindset.
4. Replace self-criticism and doubt with positive affirmations and constructive self-dialogue. Be kind and encouraging to yourself. Also, try and spend time with people who uplift and inspire you. Avoid those who promote negativity and scarcity thinking.
Remember that developing an abundance mindset takes time and practice. It's about reshaping your perspective and embracing a more positive, optimistic, and abundant way of thinking.
