Understand your triggers, establish healthier routines, and develop supportive environment to stay fit esp. during the festive season.

During the upcoming festive season, when irresistible food abounds, the battle between willpower and temptation escalates. But as you may have experienced from your past, relying solely on willpower is a futile battle. One sweet or savoury bite can send you down a guilt-laden spiral, leading to an indulgent downfall featuring mithais, cakes, chocolates, and more.

Diwali can be challenging if you're trying to manage your eating. To help you enjoy a guilt-free Diwali, here are my five key tips:

Breakfast Fuel:

Start your day with a nutritious breakfast, including proteins, low Glycemic Index foods. Your body needs the energy to keep your metabolism active. Opt for foods like sprouts, poha, and fruits.

Regular Exercise:

Aim for 30 minutes of exercise each day to maintain your well-being.

Mindful Choices:

Rather than diving headfirst into mithais and cakes, survey the options. Begin with a guilt-free salad, and then savor other dishes in moderation.

Stay Hydrated:

Keep yourself well-hydrated by drinking 6-8 glasses of water daily.

Stay Mobile:

Engaging in conversations at the dinner table can lead to unintended overindulgence. Don't hesitate to step away from the table to avoid unnecessary snacking. Additionally, don't skip meals, as it may result in overeating later.

In conclusion, relying solely on willpower isn't enough to control your eating habits. Understand your triggers, establish healthier routines, and develop a supportive environment to eat better for overall well-being during the festive season.

Love & Light,

Rima
